Ben (5) and Lio (4): two brothers, one fate. Both children suffer from Fanconi anaemia. This is a rare, inherited genetic disorder that hardly anyone knows about unless they are affected themselves. Without treatment, this condition is life-threatening. But the two boys are as strong as lions. They bravely endure their daily treatments and examinations. Only a stem cell transplant can give them a precious childhood and new prospects for the future.
Ben is now in urgent need of a stem cell donation. However, no suitable match has been found so far. Please register! For Ben, for Lio and for many other patients who are currently fighting this disease with courage and the strength of a lion.
An information session, offering the opportunity to register, will take place on Friday, 13 March 2026, from 09:45 to 16:00 in the Mensa foyer of the Georgianum Grammar School.
Here you can find further information from DKMS on why stem cell donations are so important.
