at Georgianum

Zwei Teams – ein Traum. Unsere derzeitigen Tennisteams wollen bei Jugend trainiert für Olympia hoch hinaus. Dafür trainieren beide Mannschaften viel – und ernten erste Erfolge.

Bei der Deutschen Meisterschaft von Jugend trainiert für Olympia in Berlin zeigte unsere Volleyballschulmannschaft der U16 Mädchen eine starke Leistung und belegte am Ende den 11. Platz.

Ab nach Berlin heißt es für acht Schülerinnen und zwei Lehrkräfte vom Gymnasium Georgianum in Lingen. Das Volleyballteam qualifizierte sich für das Bundesfinale von Jugend trainiert für Olympia und fährt vom 5. bis 9. Mai nach Berlin.

Jana Mia möchte Polizistin werden. Und Jana Mia liebt es, Volleyball zu spielen. Mit Lina Köster traf die Schülerin aus der 5b am vergangenen Donnerstag auf eine volleyballspielende Polizistin. Lina zeigte auf, dass Beruf und Sport vereinbar sein können.

They cheered, celebrated and shared in others’ joy. On Sunday, Year 5b’s sports class visited Schüttorf, where they learnt one of the best ways to combat envy: sharing in others’ joy.

Wow! This has never happened before: two teams won the state volleyball final in Lüneburg on 4 March 2026 and will soon be heading to their respective national finals!

On 18 April, 30 Year 5 pupils took part in the evening event in the Georgianum sports hall, combining reading and exercise in a fun way.

Die Emsland Rolli Baskets besuchten im Februar das Georgianum und gaben einen Einblick in den Rollstuhlbasketballsport.

That was impressive. The Year 12 and 13 pupils put in a strong performance in the sports triathlon and beat the teachers 2–1. After two consecutive years of victory, the teachers came off second best this year.

During his visit to the Georgianum, the Emsbüren native provided a detailed insight into his career to date and impressed everyone with his high level of motivation.

For the children in the sports class, this week’s theme was ‘Learning basketball from the pros’. They were joined by sporting director Brandon Thomas and player Anthony Connor Van from the second-division team Artland Dragons, based in Quakenbrück.

At the volleyball team’s debut in Competition Class IV at the JtfO Volleyball tournament in Oldenburg, the team not only impressed with their spirit but also secured third place.

On Wednesday 11 February 2026, our Year 4 and Year 3 teams achieved an (almost) unchallenged run to victory in the district finals.

The gymnastics team stood out in Bramsche and secured second place! The cornerstone of their success was their team spirit.

At the Georgianum, community, mutual support and working together are of the utmost importance. Just like here: at the ‘Turnfeuerwerk’ – Sport Class and Friends.

It was hard to believe. After the group stage, our teachers’ volleyball team – the defending champions – were on the brink of elimination. And then came the turnaround that seemed almost impossible: our team went on to win the trophy!

Excellent results at the district finals of the Youth Training for the Olympics athletics competition in Nordhorn.

Our school volleyball team in competition class IV competed for the German championship in Bad Blankenburg from 18 to 21 November 2024 against 13 other state winners and four substitutes.
