Cheering and sharing in the joy – sports class in Schüttorf

20. April 2026

As part of their lessons, the children in the sports class also learn many lessons for a successful life and put them into practice. After all, a good remedy for the everyday affliction of envy is to share in others’ joy. As with everything in life, it’s important to start small and keep it simple. And at FC Schüttorf, who gave the class free tickets, this was particularly easy.

The sports class attended the semi-final play-off match and cheered on the lads on the court. They spurred them on, shared in their struggles and, in the end, celebrated alongside the Schüttorf players as they secured their place in the final of the Bundesliga play-off round. The team from the county is now just one win away from a major coup. The second leg of this final takes place on 3 May at 4 pm. The FC must play the first leg away as early as this coming Saturday.

“It was impressive to see the quality of volleyball being played here in Schüttorf,” said Glosemeyer, clearly impressed. The week had already begun with a volleyball highlight for the sports class. And the run of good luck shows no sign of stopping. Following the free tickets and Sunday’s match, everyone is looking forward to a visit from Bundesliga player Lina Köster, who was herself a pupil at the Georgianum.
