On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, our Wk IV and Wk III teams enjoyed an (almost) unchallenged run in the district finals.

The Wk IV team won convincingly against Oldenburg (25:9, 25:9) and Lohne (25:16, 25:14). In the final match against the equally victorious players from Bersenbrück, we were then pushed to our limits. In the first set, we started trailing by up to four points, somewhat unsettled by the hosts’ powerful serves and impressive defensive play. Minor errors crept into our build-up play, making it difficult for us to land our attacks on the opposition’s court. In crunch time, it was ‘all or nothing’. Spurred on by loud cheers, we became increasingly precise in our build-up play and more forceful in our serves, enabling us first to level the score and then even secure a narrow set victory 25–22! Liberated by our successful comeback, everything seemed to fall into place again: impressive set-ups with precise attacks and strong defensive play led us to a well-deserved tournament victory (25–14). Congratulations to Enni Tegeder (6f), Anna Hungeling (7d), Franziska Kues (7d), Ida Lambers (7f) and Johanne Arns (7d) on winning the district championship!

Our Wk III players were equally successful in their tournament! In the preliminary round, we secured two clear victories against Wiesmoor (25:2, 25:10) and Oldenburg (25:3, 25:3), which saw us through to the final. In the final, we faced Bad Iburg, who were the first team that day to counter us with powerful attacks and serves. With our defence wide awake, we gave our setters a good starting position for precise sets to attacking shots, which time and again crashed into the opposition’s court. The almost flawless and very powerful serves ultimately led us to a 2:0 victory (25:20, 25:14) and thus to a well-deserved tournament win! Congratulations to Masa Alkhatib (9b), Lotta Egbring (9b), Theresa Hilvert (9b), Marit Echelmeyer (9b), Mila Teepker (9b), Isabella Schorr (9b), Nele Schaaf (9b) and Lilly Sager (8d) on winning the district championship!

As district champions, all the players, as well as Mr Glosemeyer and Ms Beel, can now look forward to the joint trip to Lüneburg on 4 March 2026, where this year’s state final will take place!
