On Tuesday 10 March and Thursday 12 March, a first-aid course was held at our school in collaboration with the DLRG Lingen. A total of 20 pupils took part. Many took the opportunity to complete the course as part of the requirements for obtaining their driving licence.
During the course, we gained fascinating insights into various first aid procedures. Among other things, we practised resuscitation techniques together. We practised chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on manikins. We also learnt how to use an AED and were able to try out how it is used in an emergency.
Another fascinating part of the course was learning how to apply various bandages, which we practised tying under supervision. This gave us a practical understanding of how to respond in different emergency situations.
The course was very informative for all participants and offered a good opportunity to learn and consolidate important skills for use in an emergency.
