Victory at Jugend forscht – Young researchers shine with app development

21. February 2026

In the newly established ‘Jugend forscht’ club, the two students developed ideas for a project under the guidance of teachers Anne Doleski and Maresa Sievering. After putting in a great deal of work at home, they then created an app that is well worth seeing. During Thursday’s presentation, they impressed everyone with their expertise, striking visuals and, of course, the app itself.

The app, designed to optimise family life, is intended to help with the distribution of tasks and motivation. It allows users to create shopping lists, assign and delegate tasks such as washing up, loading the dishwasher or doing homework, and even draw up meal plans. It is also possible to collect points and redeem them for joint activities or other rewards agreed upon together. And best of all: it brings the family even closer together. And when boredom strikes, little games help. Both developed the app without any programming skills of their own. They created the app using AI, demonstrating that a great deal is possible even without extensive IT knowledge.

Further teams from the Georgianum will be taking part in Jugend forscht next year. This is because the school invests many teaching hours in this area to provide children and young people with opportunities to develop their skills in research. A new era for researchers has begun at the Georgianum.
